Built on passion

The Pantiles Cinema Project is a passion project, born from a frustration at the lack of a venue in Tunbridge Wells dedicated solely to movies for those who understand what it means to lose yourself in a great film or documentary (whilst maybe sipping an old-fashioned at the same time.)

We want to create a space where people can enjoy an evening-out, with a movie at its heart. A destination where families, singles and couples can escape for a few hours, and be treated to a hand-crafted experience.

Our vision for The Pantiles Cinema Project, consists of a bar/lounge area where you can relax before a movie and maybe discuss its meaning afterwards. This is for movie fans and cinephiles predominately. Our movies will be chosen with care, no lazy choices, and it’s also our aim to allow our community to sometimes vote for future showings, too. It’s a cinema for the people.

Our screening room, as this artist’s impression shows will be a small, intimate area with comfortable seating, soundproofing, atmospheric lighting and above all, a state-of-the art digital vision and sound experience that our audience deserves.

We’re in the throes of nailing down our venue, and will share more news as soon as we have it.

– Jon Lock, Founder of The Pantiles Cinema Project
